Civilians in Gaza are being bombed, starved, and displaced. Hospitals, health centers, and even tents are being targeted, while families are burned alive. With every passing day, the death toll rises as more bodies are pulled from beneath the rubble.
Gaza’s health system is on the verge of collapse. Hospitals can no longer cope with the overwhelming number of patients. So far, 64,231 Palestinians have been killed and at least 161,583 injured, and with thousands still missing, the real figures are feared to be much higher.
Since October 2023, 1.9 million people, 90% of Gaza’s population, have been forcibly displaced, often multiple times, from their homes and so-called “safe zones.” While the crisis is most severe in the north, the UN warns that shortages of medicine, food, fuel, and shelter have reached critical levels across all areas.
Israeli attacks are not only blocking humanitarian aid but also destroying Gaza’s ability to produce its own food. Farmlands and greenhouses have been wiped out, and 95% of livestock has been killed. This devastation, compounded by relentless bombardments and mass displacement, has pushed Gaza into one of the world’s worst hunger crises. Children and the elderly are dying from starvation, while thousands more are struggling to survive.
Despite all these challenges, Islamic Relief continues its life-saving work on the ground. We are distributing hot meals, food parcels, flour sacks, clean water, and hygiene kits. We are also providing orphan sponsorships, psychosocial support, maternal and child health services, rubble clearance, and shelter maintenance. Thanks to your generosity, since October 2023 we have delivered over £39 million worth of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
In the face of occupation, blockade, and ongoing attacks, we are working to keep a lifeline open for the people of Gaza. Join us in this vital effort. Donate now to help save lives.
